House removals in Twickenham
Whole households across TW1 and TW2 — Georgian and Victorian riverside stock, the terraces behind the Green, and the family houses of Whitton and Fulwell.
Twickenham has a wider range of front doors than its size suggests. Georgian and Victorian villas along the river, terraces behind the Green, mansion flats at St Margarets, and a whole interwar and postwar town at Whitton. A moving day looks completely different in each.
What is included
- A free survey before anything is priced — video for the modern stock, in person for the old
- Floor and frame protection through the whole route, not just the front door
- Wrapping for upholstery, mattresses and polished surfaces
- Dismantle and rebuild of beds, wardrobes and tables that will pass a door
- Room-labelled unloading
- Materials taken away when we leave
The riverside stock
Much of TW1 sits in a conservation area and there is listed property along the river. On these the building is frequently more fragile than the contents: lime plaster marks under a knock painted plaster would shrug off, original boards scuff, and a Georgian frame will not forgive a corner taken at speed.
So protection goes down first and the route through the house is agreed rather than improvised — including which staircase carries what, which on a four-floor villa with a basement is a real decision.
Whitton and Fulwell
The other half of the patch and the straightforward half. Interwar and postwar semis and detached housing with driveways, wide enough roads and room to turn. Quick work, with volumes that climb once the loft and the garage are counted — and they always are.
The match-day question
Worth asking on any Twickenham move. On a home fixture the roads around the stadium and the routes in from the stations change character for most of the day, and nearby parking disappears. We check the fixture list against your date at survey and shift the loading window where it helps.
Getting a quote
Both addresses, a sense of the volume including the basement and the loft, and your date. The larger riverside houses are on large and riverside homes, flats and mansion flats on flat removals, and smaller loads on man and van.
House move questions
Short answers. If yours is not here, send it with your enquiry and we will answer it properly.
What is included?
The vehicle and crew, blankets and covers, floor and frame protection, and taking apart and rebuilding what will not pass a door in one piece. On period property, add the boards the building needs.
Why is a Georgian house slower than a modern one?
Because the route is longer and the building is more fragile. Four floors including a basement, a staircase that turns twice, original boards, lime plaster and a front door straight onto a permit street with nowhere to stand.
Is Whitton easier?
Considerably. Interwar and postwar semis with driveways, wide enough roads and turning space. The most predictable work on the patch and a large share of it by volume.
What gets forgotten?
The basement, the loft, the garden store and the half-landing cupboard. The riverside stock has storage in places modern houses do not, and all of it is slow.
Can the move span two days?
On the larger riverside houses with tight completion times, frequently it is the sensible answer. We say so at survey rather than promising one heroic day.
